Nurse Nancy Named One of Nebraska's Best Caregivers

Nancy Newman, director of Student Health Services, has been named one of the state's "best nurses."

At the April 14 campus staff meeting, representatives from the Lincoln Journal Star stopped by and surprised Newman with an announcement that she was named one of the best in the newspaper's annual "Best Nurses in Nebraska" contest.

Spanish Professor Selected for National Fulbright Scholarship Screening Committee

Cathy Nelson, associate professor of Spanish, has been selected to serve on the National Screening Committee (NSC) for Fulbright Scholarship applications.

Nelson will evaluate applications for the Fulbright U.S. Student English Language Teaching Assistantships in Spain.

Early Experiences Give Students a Preview to New Academic Year

The fall semester at Nebraska Wesleyan University officially began Monday, August 26. But first year students in Karla Jensen’s liberal arts seminar, “The Liberal Arts of Yoga,” started their academic year early learning the historical, psychological, economical, and political aspects of yoga.

They started on Sunday, August 18 with a class on basic breathing techniques.

History Professor Honored for Internationalizing Campus

Nebraska Wesleyan University history professor Meghan Winchell has been awarded the White Award for Internationalization.

The award, honoring President John and Marty White for their many years of service to NWU, recognizes individuals who have furthered the internationalization of the campus, its curriculum, its students and faculty.
