Not only because they feel college students should be civically engaged, but the questions asked of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will likely have some familiarity.

Homecoming Royalty Crowned

Seniors Katie Krick and Garret Lorenzen have been crowned Nebraska Wesleyan University’s 2016 homecoming queen and king.

They were crowned Thursday, September 22 during the Howl Like Hell pep rally to officially kick off homecoming weekend.

Press Shift: Annual Visions & Ventures Symposium Addresses Technology's Impact

Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Visions & Ventures Symposium is going unplugged.

The annual event brings together the university and Lincoln community to discuss a topic of universal significance with leading national experts.

Scheduled for September 13-14, this year’s symposium, “Press Shift: Our Changing Place In A High-Tech World,” will address the advancements, setbacks and impacts of today’s technology.

New Academic Year Brings Another Enrollment Record

Nebraska Wesleyan University has set another enrollment record for new students in 2016-2017.

Last year the university celebrated its largest first-year class in 50 years. That enrollment success continues this year with 486 new students — up from 478 last year.

Students to Aid Forest Restoration in Thailand

Classes are done for the 2016-2017 academic year but seven Nebraska Wesleyan students are reading and researching all they can about Thailand. The group leaves May 19 for a 13-day service trip. It marks the first time a Nebraska Wesleyan student organization has traveled to Thailand.

Members of Global Service Learning take an international service trip each summer. They have previously traveled to China, Guatemala, Malawi, Nicaragua, and Swaziland.

Returning Students who will be off campus this summer can forward their mail by going to WebAdvisor and clicking on “Forward my Mail”. Indicate the reason for change as “Summer Break” and double check the address information. Enter 08/01/16 for the effective end date. Your mail will be forwarded until August 1, 2016.

Students Reflect on Flood Cleanup Efforts in South Carolina

The flooding lasted just days in Columbia, South Carolina, last October. But the recovery is far from over.

Volunteers are still helping rebuild the area hit by nearly 20 inches of rain — causing 11 deaths and leaving many homeless.

The national concern and the media stories made it an easy decision for members of Nebraska Wesleyan’s Student Fellowship on where to spend this year’s spring break.

Fall Academic Honors List Announced

Nebraska Wesleyan University has announced its Academic Honors List for the fall semester of the 2015-2016 academic year.

A student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.75 (on a 4.00 scale) for 12 or more hours of coursework to qualify for the list.

NWU Fraternity, Sorority Receive National Recognition

Two chapters in Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Greek community have received national recognition.

The Upsilon Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity has been awarded the Roland Maxwell Outstanding Chapter Award. The honor is bestowed on one chapter from more than 100 Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity chapters across the country. The award recognizes Nebraska Wesleyan’s chapter as the most outstanding in the country. The chapter was celebrated during the fraternity’s national convention in July for its success in learning, leading and serving.
