Pulitzer-Prize winning author Douglas A. Blackmon spoke at Nebraska Wesleyan University on Thursday, October 25 in a lecture titled, “Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II.”

NWU Theatre Student Cast in Major Motion Picture

Just a few weeks ago, Nebraska Wesleyan University student James Hamrick was rehearsing lines for the rock musical “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.”

The summer theatre opportunity in his native city of Houston, Texas, would add another experience to his already impressive resume.

But an interesting change of events has Hamrick changing his summer plans.

Three NWU Students Win Gilman International Scholarships to Study Abroad

Nebraska Wesleyan University sophomore Gabe Taylor fondly remembers the University Choir’s international tour to Estonia last summer. He enjoyed the country so much that he called his mom from Estonia saying he didn’t want to come home.

Thanks to a Gilman International Scholarship, Taylor will return to Estonia for his spring semester.

Theme House Residents Celebrate Year of Helping Others

On a recent warm and sunny afternoon, the sounds of singing, cheering and clapping erupted from the backyard of a Nebraska Wesleyan theme house.

It was the place to be for a giddy bunch of Huntington Elementary School students who were there to celebrate their MVP Club and to say goodbye to their mentors.
