NWU Awards Degrees

Dr. Fred Ohles, President of Nebraska Wesleyan University, awarded degrees to nearly 500 undergraduate and graduate students during Nebraska Wesleyan University’s 123rd annual commencement held Saturday, May 12.

Dr. Harold M. Maurer, Chancellor of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and an internationally-recognized medical scientist, delivered the commencement address. Honorary degrees were presented to Dr. Maurer and Angie L. Muhleisen, President and CEO of Union Bank and Trust Company.

Three students were awarded the Gold Key Award for maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average during their college career. Those students are Heather Goodwin of Arlington, Ill., Evan Harpster of Fremont and Andrew Schweitzer of Bedford, Iowa. Two students received the Silver Key Award for maintaining a 3.99 grade point average during their college careers. The Silver Key honorees are Lucas Hemmer of Humphrey and Shu Fan Michelle Zhang of Lincoln.
