Next fall students will be welcomed back with several improvements and changes to our food service program.

Key changes will include:

  • Dining hall renovations including new contemporary seating and tables, a welcome center and improved serving stations;
  • Continuous, flexible dining hours in the dining hall from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.;
  • New variety of high quality, healthy dining options that also address special dietary needs;
  • Improved Simply To Go option (grab and go) with high-quality, fresh foods;
  • Partnerships with Lincoln restaurants to offer a meal from restaurant’s menu;
  • Holiday, heritage months and celebrations to build community and create a fun dining experience;
  • Student contest to select names for both the dining hall and coffee shop. Both winners of the naming contests will receive an iPad Air;
  • Use of apps like Mindful and My Fitness Pal to help maintain healthy dietary choices;
  • Social media student internship position to assist Sodexo with student engagement;
  • Five meal plan scholarships per semester;
  • “We Proudly Brew” Starbucks beverages served in the coffee house;
  • Continued sustainability efforts.

We will offer three new meal plan options with significantly expanded flex points that can be used in the dining hall or coffee shop for yourself, guests or family:

  • Gold Plan — includes 19 meals per week and $100 in flex points per semester; This plan will be required for first-year students living in the traditional halls but is available to anyone;
  • Prairie Wolf Plan — includes 140 meals and $100 in flex points per semester; This plan is available to all returning students living in the traditional halls, townhouses, suites and apartments;
  • Pack Plan — includes 75 meals and $250 in flex points per semester; This plan is available to commuter students and those living in the townhouses, apartments and Greek organizations.

Thanks to all of our undergraduate students who participated in Sodexo’s focus groups. The feedback you shared provided valuable research in guiding the university's recommendations.
