Her commitment and service to students are just a few reasons why the United Methodist Church Division of Higher Education has named her this year’s Exemplary Teacher.
"Coming into college I didn’t know much about scientific research," said senior Carlie Pickrel.
Little did she know she would spend much of her Nebraska Wesleyan undergraduate experience conducting research through Nebraska’s Idea Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE).
She is also very passionate about her faith. Luckily for the junior from Aurora, Neb., Nebraska Wesleyan University helped her find an opportunity to merge both interests.
For the first time in 27 years, a Nebraska Wesleyan University student has been honored with the Roy G. Story Award, an honor that recognizes individuals or groups of faculty, administrators, staff members or volunteers.
Nebraska Wesleyan University has set another enrollment record for new students in 2016-2017.
Last year the university celebrated its largest first-year class in 50 years. That enrollment success continues this year with 486 new students — up from 478 last year.
