Nebraska Wesleyan University invites applications for a one-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professorship of Biology beginning August 2026.  Candidates with a Ph.D. (completed or near-completion) in the Biological Sciences (or a closely related field) are eligible to apply. This is a full-time benefit-eligible position, which includes a comprehensive package including health, vision and dental insurance benefits, retirement benefits, and undergraduate tuition remission for employee dependents.

Qualifications

This position is open to all areas of specialization in the field of Biological sciences. We particularly encourage applications from individuals with integrative training spanning botany, ecology, and microbiology; however, strong candidates with expertise in any one of these areas are also encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will participate in duties related to the instruction of both lecture and laboratory for a variety of lower- and upper-level biology courses, such as a combination of General Biology, Ecology, Plant Taxonomy, Microbiology, and/or Anatomy & Physiology. Preferred applicants will display a commitment to undergraduate experiences through innovative teaching practices.
