External Ballistics Seminar to be held July 17 at Izaak Walton Shooting Range

Douglas Scott, PhD, and member of the Association of Firearm and Toolmark Examiners, will teach a seminar in external ballistics on July 17. Students will learn what bullets do after they leave the barrel of a gun and how they penetrate different media. They will be using ballistic gel, also known tissue simulant, to look at the trajectory of the bullets passing through the gel.

Justin Iverson knows when he’s a minister someday, Sunday school and church service won’t be the same as it was growing up in his South Dakota United Methodist congregation.

“Sunday fellowship is dwindling,” said Iverson, who graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in May with a psychology degree. “Things are reshaping. It’s not like it used to be.”
