Cooper Foundation Center for Academic Resources

Providing assistance to all NWU students at every stage of their academic careers, including writing, speaking projects, and study skills.

The main Cooper Center, located in Cochrane-Woods Library, is staffed with trained peer consultants who were selected for their outstanding academic work. Our staff is eager to help clients improve academic performance. Many of our peer consultants have taken the classes you’re in now; so, they can speak from direct experience about a professor’s expectations and preferences. We also have the “Mini” Cooper Center in Burt 113 staffed by Dr. Hayes for the convenience of Adult and Graduate students.

The Cooper Center also houses Supplemental Instruction (SI), an academic assistance program that increases student performance and retention. The SI program provides regularly scheduled, out-of-class, peer facilitated sessions.

We use an online scheduling system called WC Online. You can go to the NWU/WC Online site by clicking on the appointment button to the right. It’s easy to make an account and schedule an appointment with our consultants or sign up for SI sessions. We also have an eTutoring option for Adult and Grad students who may not have access to our face-to-face consultations.

We look forward to working with you!
