The Bald Soprano

The Bald Soprano

The Bald Soprano

When French playwright Eugene Ionesco was trying to learn English, he stumbled over the language’s many absurdities. (You try to explain “It’s raining cats and dogs!” to an English language learner.)

The experience inspired his absurd play, “La Cantatrice Chauve,” or, “The Bald Soprano.” It’s a classic comedy of the absurd order.
