A home run for the home teams

Nebraska Wesleyan baseball and softball teams will soon have new home fields. In a public-private partnership with Lincoln Youth Complex (LYC), NWU will have dedicated stadiums at the new youth baseball and softball complex near downtown Lincoln. This marks a significant upgrade for game days in Lincoln.

Since joining the American Rivers Conference in their 2017 seasons, Prairie Wolves softball and baseball facilities have lagged behind their A-R-C rivals. As both teams improve year over year, it is time for their facilities to match their goals: top in the conference and beyond.

NWU Baseball and NWU Softball each will have a dedicated field during the season. Though the fields are not on campus, they’ll create a home field advantage with Prairie Wolves branding on the fields, dugouts and scoreboards.

The new home for NWU baseball and softball will also increase NWU’s visibility in Lincoln and as a national destination for collegiate athletes. In its prime location at the intersection of I-180 and Cornhusker Highway, LYC will be a game-changer. Young baseball and softball players from all over the country will see and play on the Prairie Wolves fields during national youth tournaments each summer. Nebraska Wesleyan coaches and players will also serve local youth by offering baseball and softball programming for young people who may not otherwise have access to the sports.
