"The child is so sweet
And the girls are so rapturous
Isn't it lovely how artists can capture us?"

Background

With over forty years of professional experience in both domestic and international theatre, I have cultivated a diverse career encompassing acting, directing, designing, and education. My directorial credits comprise more than sixty productions, including notable works such as See What I Wanna See, Anastasia, Hello Dolly!, She Loves Me, Bright Star, Carrie, Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Passion, The Fantasticks, Chess, The Life, Violet, The Last Five Years, South Pacific, La bohème, Dog Fight, The Boys from Syracuse, Giant, Bonnie & Clyde, Catch Me If You Can, Aspects of Love, Hello Again, Urinetown, Of Thee I Sing, The Good Woman of Setzuan, Edges, Working, The House of Bernarda Alba, Jane Eyre (the musical), The Miracle Worker, The Pajama Game, Two Gentlemen of Verona (the musical), Fiddler on the Roof, The World Goes ‘Round, and Antigone. I have also had the privilege of directing numerous world premiere musicals, including three original interdisciplinary pieces: The Poe Project, Simple Gifts (Greece tour), and Donne in Amore: Heroines in Verse (Italy tour). As an actor, my credits include the 1996-1997 national and international tours of The Sound of Music (Rolf), starring Marie Osmond, as well as performances in Tycoon, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, The Lisbon Traviata, Cabaret, The Baltimore Waltz, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Camelot. I have also had the opportunity to work with UDT on fourteen productions, including Into the Woods, Metropolis, Blood Brothers, City of Angels, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Guys & Dolls, and Oklahoma!. In addition, I have performed in several symphonic concerts, including An Evening with Tim Rice with Sir Tim Rice and the 2003 concert of Jesus Christ Superstar starring original cast member Yvonne Elliman. As the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Curtain Call Productions, I co-produced the world premiere of the new musical Lindbergh Baby Kidnapped at Baltimore's Theatre Project. With over twenty-five years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of working with students at Ohio Northern University, Den Danska Scenekunstskole Musicalakademi, Illinois Wesleyan University, Towson University, College of Notre Dame of Maryland, University of Texas at El Paso, Del Valle High School, and Roland Park Country School. On a personal note, I am proud to be the parent of two exceptional children: Elijah, married and working in central Illinois (he and his wife, Gabby, are expecting their first child), and Eden, a professional actor in New York (recently graduating with a BM in Music Theatre from Baldwin Wallace University's Conservatory of Performing Arts).
