Elder Gallery Exhibit: Restraint and Limitation
Elder Gallery

"Restraint and Limitation" explores trends in contemporary abstract painting via the work of three accomplished women, Anna Buckner of Indiana, Sharon Butler of Connecticut and Gianna Commito of Ohio. The three primary artists represent different stages of their careers and show commitment to the aesthetics and procedures inherent in painting practice today, yet bring diverse pressures to the form. 

Matthew Ballou, associate teaching professor in the University of Missouri's art department, has curated this exhibit. 

The exhibit runs from October 23 to December 9, with a closing reception and artist talk scheduled for Friday, December 7 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Elder Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m .to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. Elder Gallery is located inside the Rogers Center for Fine Arts at 50th Street and Huntington Ave.

NWU is among the first universities granted the rights to produce this Broadway smash featuring the music of ABBA! Sophie wants nothing more than to have her father walk her down the aisle for her traditional Greek wedding. But who is her father?

Performances will be held November 29-December 1 and December 6-8 at 7:30 p.m. and December 2nd and December 9th at 2 p.m. All shows will be held in McDonald Theatre, located at 51st Street and Huntington Ave.

Christmas at the Cathedral: University Choir Performance
St. Cecilia Cathedral - Omaha

The Omaha Symphonic Chorus presents the 23rd annual Christmas at the Cathedral concert at St. Cecilia Cathedral. The chorus will be accompanied by the chamber orchestra of the Omaha Symphony. Also performing in the concert will be the Nebraska Wesleyan University Choir, the American Midwest Ballet and the Lincoln Boys Choir.

Tickets can be purchased at https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3628823. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the north doors of the Cathedral beginning 45 minutes prior to the performance.

The cathedral is located at 701 N. 40th Street in Omaha.

A 26-year-old Nebraska Wesleyan holiday tradition continues with the Elizabethan Feast.

This event sends participants back into the 16th century for a four-course meal served with entertainment by the Chamber Singers, Recorder Consort, Herald Trumpets, and the Theatre Players.
