Since 2023, Professor Feifei Jiang has elevated the program with higher artistic standards, expanded public visibility, and strong connections to guest artists and regional partners.

Student Success

  • Sophia Chavanu — winner of the NWU/Lincoln Civic Orchestra Concerto Auditions (2023); soloist with LCO (2024); standout Senior Recital (2024); now teaching in SDA public schools.
  • Honors Performers (2025) — Jacen Smith and Daniel Kuncl, recognized for excellence on the 2nd Annual NWU Piano Day.
  • Studio accolades include top honors at American Protégé, Steinway Junior, MTNA/NMTA, Chicago International, San Jose International, Conero International, Aloha International, and the International Grand Music Competition, with appearances at Carnegie Hall and Kaufman Music Center.

Signature Events and Guest Artists 

  • 2nd Annual NWU Piano Day (2025) with guest artist Dr. Sławomir Dobrzański (Professor of Piano, Kansas State University); shared concert with the JF Piano Duo and multi-level masterclasses.
  • 1st Annual NWU Piano Day (2024)with featured Steinway Artist Jackson Berkey (former keyboardist of Mannheim Steamroller) in masterclasses and a featured concert.
  • Ongoing residencies connect students with world-class pianists, educators, and composers, expanding networks and repertoire.
