Experiencing the Culture of Italy with Dr. Rachel Pokora
Encounter the culture of Italy! Students in this study abroad class travel to Florence, Italy and surrounding areas to study cultural indicators such as verbal and nonverbal communication, food, transportation, business climate, politics, religious beliefs, and interpersonal relationships. Students read texts, listen/give presentations, view art, attend concerts, experience the culture of Florence through walking, watching, eating, shopping and navigating the city and reflect on these experiences. Students stay in apartments. Students can earn credit for the global diversity requirement in the Archway Curriculum.
Estimated cost: $4,250 plus cost of flight. This price includes some meals. The cost does not include 3 NWU credits (optional). Summer NWU tuition is estimated at $420/credit.
Pre-departure class sessions and a study abroad orientation are required.
Applications and a $1,000 non-refundable deposit are due on December 9, 2025.
Second payment of $3,000 is due on January 16, 2026.
The final payment is due March 13, 2026. This final payment will include the cost of the flight (TBD).
