Letter Packet Instructions
NWU Pre-health Letter Packet
Based on the materials you provide in the NWU Medical School Application packet and your letters of recommendation, the Pre-Health Committee will prepare a “letter packet” or summary letter about you. It incorporates highlights of your personal data, what your letter writers have said about you, and a recommendation by the committee. It also includes the original letters of recommendation that have been submitted for you.
Committee Letters are available for students who are applying to medical (MD and DO) schools only. Dental, Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, Optometry, Veterinary Medicine, and other programs utilize the Centralized Application Service (CAS), and individual letters of recommendation must be submitted directly by the referee.
For a given application cycle, all materials (individual reference letters and the completed NWU Medical School Application Packet) must be submitted by June 1st for early decision applicants and July 1st for regular decision. Letters will then be written over the summer and submitted on your behalf in the fall. If you are applying to medical school, please contact Dr. Kate Weskamp for further instructions.
