What can I do with a business-sociology degree?

Without a good understanding of others—coworkers, superiors and subordinates, customers, competitors—and all of the roles that each play, it is nearly impossible to succeed at business. So, sociology with a business focus is a degree that is increasingly well received in the business world. Employment opportunities will be greatest in individual and family service organizations, followed by community and vocational rehabilitation services; nursing and residential care facilities; religious, civic and similar organizations; as well as state and local government, education and hospitals.

Graduate Studies

Many students choose sociology because they see it as a broad liberal arts base for continuing graduate studies in such fields as law, education, medicine, social work and counseling.

So, economics degree graduates are prepared to enter a variety of career paths. Most economist jobs require an advanced degree, but some entry-level jobs are available with a bachelor’s degree.

Graduate Studies

A master’s degree or Ph.D. is required for most economist jobs. An economics degree also can prepare you for earning a Master in Business Administration, becoming a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and attending law school.

Financial planners help people turn long-term financial goals into reality. Financial advisors and planners are accredited by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards (CFP® Board), which ensures that advisors and planners meet strict educational, professional and ethical requirements.
