Flexibility for Transfer Students

Welcome transfer students!

In many cases, classes you have taken elsewhere will transfer directly into the Archway Curriculum or into your major. You may use our Self-Service software to check on how a specific course will transfer.

NWU has designed the Archway Curriculum to enrich our students’ skills development within and beyond their majors throughout their time at NWU. You can find the full Archway Curriculum in our Course Catalog. We want you to get the most out of your undergraduate career and still graduate on time and therefore we adjust the Archway Curriculum according to the number of credits you bring to NWU*.

When a student transfers to NWU with …the Archway Curriculum is adjusted by…
45 or more transfer credits*waiving 9 hrs of the Integrative Core requirement;
waiving one lower-level writing-instructive class;
waiving one lower-level speaking-instructive class;
waiving the exploratory experiential learning requirement
75 or more transfer credits*waiving all of the Integrative Core requirement;
waiving one lower-level writing-instructive class;
waiving one lower-level speaking-instructive class;
waiving the exploratory experiential learning requirement
a completed bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universitywaiving all Archway Curriculum requirements

*credits transferred in to NWU that were earned since high school graduation or GED completion

Some of the classes you have taken might also transfer into your major. Our Admissions team can help you work with the faculty members in your department to find your best path to a Nebraska Wesleyan University degree.
