Two Nebraska Wesleyan University music alumni will be honored Friday, September 20 for their accomplishments.

More than 40 people from 17 countries will take their Oath of Allegiance and become naturalized United States citizens when Nebraska Wesleyan University hosts a naturalization ceremony on Tuesday, September 17.

We hope your sons and daughters have already shared with you some of their favorite experiences from New Student Orientation and their first week of classes.

The senior history and vocal performance major from Omaha was selected for the prestigious Monticello Archaeological Field School in Virgina, a six-week course which includes firsthand archaeological experience.

The entire screening process lasted from late October to early January, involved several psychological and medical tests, and lots of blood draws for both Lori and Benes. After the final test, Benes was declared a match.

The fall semester at Nebraska Wesleyan University officially began Monday, August 26. But first year students in Karla Jensen’s liberal arts seminar, “The Liberal Arts of Yoga,” started their academic year early learning the historical, psychological, economical, and political aspects of yoga.

They started on Sunday, August 18 with a class on basic breathing techniques.

Nebraska Wesleyan University is responding by launching a new Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree. The degree will be offered through the university’s Wesleyan Advantage Program, which is geared for working adults.
