Simon Highsmith (’25), a sociology major from Centennial, Co., is the winner of this year’s Dean B. Stewart Award for Courage.
Highsmith has been chosen as the 2024 recipient for their courage in overcoming adversity and determination to finish their degree despite a debilitating medical condition.
Rachel Maceri, assistant professor of exercise science, has been named Nebraska Wesleyan University's Advisor of the Year for 2023-24.
One student nominator says Maceri helped her pass a chemistry course that was required for her degree after she considered dropping the class after the first exam.
Kellen McLaughlin ('24) says he recently learned there’s only one way to fix a pothole.

Sandra K. Mathews, PhD, is this year's recipient of the university's top teaching award, the Margaret J. Prouty Faculty Teaching Award.

CeCe Nguyen (’25), a psychology major from Lincoln, Neb., will study at Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul as part of the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP).
