We are invested in a safe campus

Our commitment to our students’ safety and well-being is something you can see and feel on campus. Ahead of your move-in day, we wanted to share a few ways we’re investing in a safe and supportive campus community. 

This year, we’re upgrading our building access and security systems. This change increases our capacity to detect and address safety issues without compromising our students’ convenient access to the facilities they use. 

We use emergency response protocols that provide guidance during situations such as severe weather, medical emergencies and other unexpected events. We also offer free training opportunities to our students, faculty and staff focused on personal safety, bystander intervention, CPR, AEDs and first aid. 

These trainings and protocols empower our campus community to navigate emergencies with greater awareness and confidence. 

A safe campus includes the proper management of our parking lots. Please review NWU’s parking policies and register for your parking tag using your NWU login credentials before move-in day arrives. 

We distribute parking tags in August to all registered incoming students who plan to bring a vehicle to campus. You will use the same permit throughout your time at NWU, with annual stickers used to show your current registration.
