Aspiring Educators

Aspiring Educators is an organization that strives to make connections between future educators across the board and help give them valuable resources for success in their future careers. It is an organization that works with the NSEA state group to provide great experiences for all its students at surrounding schools and in the community.

ASU (Asian Student Union)

The purpose of the organization is to bring all Asian cultures together and create a diverse and inclusive community. This organization will provide a space for all Asian students to come and connect, learn, and celebrate our Asian cultures. This organization also serves as an education platform for students willing to learn about Asian cultures.

Anime and Manga Club (AnMC)

AnMC strives to bridge cultural divides through appreciation of Anime and Manga. We do this through appreciation of Japanese culture, and encouragement of individual creativity.

Black Student Union (BSU)

BSU was established to advance and support the African American student body on campus through programming, representation, and diversifying NWU's campus and uplifting Black student voices.

Board Game Club

The purpose of the organization is to​ facilitate community building on campus using board, card, and tabletop games.

Creative Writing Club/ Poetry Club

We are open to all students who are looking for a group to support them in their writing endeavors. We share work, prompts, and snacks. All genres are welcome!

Global Service Learning

Global Service Learning (GSL) is a group of students who bring a variety of skills and perspectives to the ongoing work of service learning on a local, national, and international level. Our members demonstrate a sense of commitment to global citizenship and service, and we are willing to engage in meaningful group and personal reflections.

International Relations Organization (IRO)

International Relations Organization (IRO) creates a space both for the U.S. and international students to build a community of global friendships and cultural exchange. IRO provides a social network for all NWU community members to interact and to educate each other through fun, social and educational international activities.

ItsOnUs

ItsOnUs Fights sexual assault on campus and provides education and awareness on gender based violence.

Knitting Club

Nebraska Wesleyan’s Knitting Club is dedicated to not only introducing skills to beginners but also fostering an inclusive environment for all levels of proficiency in knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and anything with string!

Through weekly meetings, the members of the club are able to share new techniques and patterns with one another. Here, beginners are able to learn basic concepts from other members who vary from being self-taught to familial trained. We wish to raise awareness of the positive benefits of knitting and crocheting as a creative art, a stress management tool, and a way to connect to the community.

NWU Knitting Club is focused on giving back to the community by hosting charity knitting events bimonthly. Handmade items crafted at these events are donated to various organizations including Foster Care to Success, Knots of Love, Warm Up America, and locally to the Little Hats, Big Hearts campaign through the American Heart Association, as well as the Child Advocacy Center.

MENA (Midde Eastern North African)

The MENA Club at Nebraska Wesleyan University is a vibrant student organization dedicated to celebrating and sharing the rich cultures of the Middle East and North Africa. The club provides a platform for students to connect, learn, and engage with the diverse traditions, languages, and histories of the MENA region.

Mu Phi Epsilon Beta Pi

Mu Phi Epsilon is an international, professional music fraternity based on the pillars of music, friendship, and harmony. Nebraska Wesleyan University is home to the Beta Pi Chapter. We frequently collaborate with the Lincoln Alumni Chapter to host music events in the community or fundraise for local groups. Membership is not dependent on being a music major, and we pride ourselves on being a diverse group that represents multiple disciplines on campus.

Neurodiversity Club

Neurodiversity Club’s purpose is to cultivate an inclusive and supportive environment for students, staff, and faculty to promote neurodiversity awareness, community education, and self-advocacy in reaching one’s full potential.

NAfME

NAfMe aims to make available to members opportunities for professional development, acquaint students with the privileges and responsibilities of the music education profession, provide all members with the opportunity to network with leaders in the music education profession through participation in programs, demonstrations, discussions, workshops, and performances planned by this chapter, the Nebraska Music Educators Association, and the National Association for Music Education, assist the school in various projects throughout the year, and provide the opportunity to have contact with collegiate members from other schools.

NWU Dance Club

Dance Club aspires to include all dancers and dances of life, with group members joining in collective choreography, attending dancing events together, exploring new and old forms of dance, or just getting together to dance.

NWU Book Club

The purpose of the organization is to bring together students who are interested in recreational reading and discussing their reading with like-minded students.

NWU Chess Club

The NWU Chess Club meets from 7-9pm on scheduled Thursdays in room 317 in the Cochrane-Woods Library. Meetings are low-stress and open to players of all ages and abilities. If you've never played chess before and are looking to start, now's the time! We have students who are happy to help you learn at your own pace. NWU FBLA-Collegiate

Future Business Leaders of America, Inc. (FBLA) is the largest business Career and Technical Student Organization in the world. Each year, FBLA helps over 230,000 members prepare for careers in business.

NWU Latinos

NWU Latinos was established at Nebraska Wesleyan University in the Spring of 2022 by NWU students and a faculty member, in order to serve the larger Latino/Hispanic community within the university. Its purpose is to provide a student organization for all students, faculty or staff interested in the Latino/Hispanic heritage, to be involved in Latino/Hispanic heritage/cultural events, and to share and celebrate the Latino/Hispanic culture with the NWU community.

NWU Pride Alliance

NWU Pride Alliance seeks to affirm the Wesleyan tradition of acceptance of diversity particularly concerning LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in the Wesleyan community.

NWU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

NWU SAAC works to enhance the student-athlete experience at Nebraska Wesleyan University, through the community, service, promotion, communication, and engagement.

NWU Student Chapter of USITT

USITT connects performing arts design and technology communities to ensure a vibrant dialogue among practitioners, educators, and students. USITT was founded in 1960 as an organization to promote dialogue, research, and learning among practitioners of theatre design and technology. Today, the Institute boasts thousands of members at all levels of their careers and has embraced the new technologies being used in entertainment. USITT is now the leader in life-long learning opportunities for the entertainment design and technology industry.

NWU Yoga Club

Yoga Club is dedicated to providing NWU students, faculty, and staff opportunities to practice yoga, mindfulness, and meditation. Everyone is welcome whether they are new to yoga or have previous experience. Our motto is "If you can breathe, you can do yoga!"

Spirits & Traditions (homecoming Week)

Wesleyan Week is a committee that focuses on encompassing school spirit, pride, and traditions throughout what is traditionally known as "Homecoming Week." We work towards providing school spirit and wonderful activities throughout this week and encourage all students to participate.

Students Advocation for Gender Equity (S.A.G.E)

S.A.G.E brings students, faculty, and staff on campus together with a common goal of promoting information regarding various gender-based issues and advocating on campus and in the Lincoln community. Also included is Women in STEM, and Feminine Empowerment.

Student Affairs Senate

Student Affairs Senate is the student government body at Nebraska Wesleyan and acts as a liaison between Nebraska Wesleyan's administration and students. SAS is responsible for funding student organizations' budgets and other student based projects on campus.

Students For Life

The mission of Students for Life is to give a voice and presence for those who believe that life is the most basic and fundamental right of all human beings and thus should be protected, to protect and defend the most fundamental right of humankind, the right to life of every innocent human being from the beginning of life to natural death.

Sustain NWU (Greenhouse Project)

SustainNWU is our environmental advocacy organization at NWU! We seek to build an inclusive community that promotes environmental sustainability. Through the accountability of ourselves and others, we aim to establish these values in our daily lives, in and outside of our organization to create a better Earth!

The Flintlock

The Flintlock is a student-led journal that showcases literary and visual arts excellence within the Nebraska Wesleyan University student population.

USITT Student Chapter

The student chapter of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology promotes the education of young theatrical technicians. We host guest artists, educational workshops, tours of local theaters, go to the national conference, and more!

Water Polo Club

The purpose of the Nebraska Wesleyan Water Polo Club will be to promote the sport of water polo at Nebraska Wesleyan University. To teach people of any skill water polo to better their skills in the sport of water polo.

Wesleyan Entertainment Board

Wesleyan Entertainment Board is an organization that creates fun and unique experiences to promote engagement for students.

Wesleyan Theatre Company

To create a spirit of active and intelligent interest in all aspects of the Theatre Arts Department by supporting the students in educational and production-related endeavors. To promote connections among the students through activities that purposefully encourage growth, development, and social connections.

Wilderness Adventure Club

We believe in getting outdoors and exploring all the possibilities there are for us. Get outside!

Faith

Bridge

Bridge is the interfaith student organization on campus. Its emphasis is to bring people of different worldviews to learn from each other and from traditions that are not represented. It also promotes dialogue and cooperation between persons of different faiths.

CRU

Cru seeks to supplement ministry opportunities available for students by providing access to Cru's national and international resources; including a statewide Fall Retreat (with Cru chapters from 7 other NE campuses), a regional Winter Conference in Minneapolis (with Cru students from 7 other states), Spring Break Mission Trips, Summer Mission Trips all over the U.S. and world, internships, and employment opportunities.

FCA: Fellowship of Christian Athletes

We are an organization that meets to become more like Christ and his example of the Gospel through sport!

NWU Catholic

NWU Catholic aims to unite students to Christ through faith-based works and prayer. Our club organizes regular meetings and events to keep students engaged in their faith.

Wesleyan Student Fellowship

The purpose of Wesleyan Student Fellowship is to support a community in which Nebraska Wesleyan University students may grow in camaraderie and fellowship with one another.

Honorary Organizations

Alpha Mu Gamma

Alpha Mu Gamma is a national honorary which recognizes excellence in the study of all modern languages. Our NWU chapter typically hosts activities open to other students interested in language and intercultural opportunities and helps plan and support for Modern Languages Departmental and International Relations Organization activities, such as the welcome mixer, Global Village, World Spring Festival, game nights, Modern Languages lunches and the international film series.

Blue Key Honor Society

An honorary organization for upperclassmen who are in the top 1/3 of their class in junior standing or above.

Lambda Pi Eta

Although Lambda Pi Eta is the National Communication Studies Honorary, we invite all students on campus to join us as we explore the theory, research, and applications of communication in our personal, professional, and civic lives.

(Tri-Beta) Biology Honor Society

Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is an honor society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.

Academic

Art Club

Art Club fosters connections through the process of creating, viewing, and discussing art. During weekly meetings, the club allows students to use art as a creative outlet by providing the space, materials, and guidance for working with various media. Each semester, Art Club facilitates trips to museums and galleries in the U.S. and hosts talks by visiting artists and other professionals in the art world, which are open to the campus and local community.

Athletic Training Student Association

ATSA exists to promote the athletic training profession on Nebraska Wesleyan's campus and expand students' opportunities in the athletic health care field. Personal and professional relationships within the organization and community are essential to the athletic training field. We as an organization strive to assist members in connecting with professionals in the field.

History Club

The History Club encourages students to share their passion for history and support each other as researchers, writers, and critical thinkers. The club organizes history-related events both on and off campus, and members occasionally take short trips together to historic sites.

Digital Marketing (DigiMA)

DigiMA facilitates community building by building a digital knowledge board that curates relevant industry certification programs, recruiting local businesses that are willing to work as digital marketing community project partners, and participating in national Digital Marketing competitions.

MADACS Club

The purpose of MADACS club is to promote the enjoyment of mathematics, data analytics, and computer science as well as to foster fellowship, professional relations, and camaraderie among fellow students at Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Philosophy Club

Philosophy club is a space where students can talk about interesting topics in a rapidly changing world. While many of these topics may border on traditional philosophy, philosophy club is a place for all students to discuss their thoughts on the world! During our meetings, we watch popular media and discuss what we think about it. Philosophy club is a great place to meet new people, have interesting discussions in a casual environment, and enjoy free food! We look forward to meeting you!

Physics Club

Hello everyone! Majors, minors, and students interested in physics or engineering! Our NWU “Physics Club” is a local chapter of the national Society of Physics Students (SPS) organization. Here are some of the exciting things we've done so far and what we plan to do in the future!

- RoboCode tank battle coding competition, with food and fabulous prizes!

- NWU Physics Club T-shirts! What design would you like to see?

- Starting our own collection of physics demonstrations, with equipment purchased and owned by physics club!We have money already in our organization budget from Student Affairs Senate, for these events and more!We are also looking to plan an exciting spring break Physics & Engineering field trip to Denver, CO and surrounding region, to visit museums, government labs like NIST and National Center for Atmospheric Research, as well as local industries (Ball Aerospace and others) and Universities.

Pre Health Club

Provide support for students preparing for health professions by organizing speakers, trips to schools, and more.

Pre Law Club

Pre-Law Club, as pre-law club we promote a greater interest in legal education and the intention of the organization is to educate students interested in the legal profession.

Political Science Club

The purpose of the NWU Political Science Club will be to provide our members, as well as the broader campus community, with a forum for information and discussion of political topics. Through the NWU Political Science Club, students will discover a multitude of topics to peak their intellect and engage in scholarly dialogue and debate. Plus, the NWU Political Science Club will serve as an arena for participants to seek new knowledge, experiences, and relationships by listening to guest speakers, taking trips to important political places, and participating in other worthy endeavors and activities.

Psych Club

It is the goal of the Psychology Club to create opportunities for students interested in Psychology to get to know each other and their professors. This creates a sense of community along with belonging, support, and fellowship.

The Student Nurse Association

We are the student nursing association of NWU. We are all members of the nursing program or prenursing and work with the community! SNA gets the opportunity to listen to all sorts of different nurse speakers. Contact us at NWU_SNA on Instagram if you are interested!

Wesleyan Communication Association

Communication Association (WCA) is an organization in which mainly Communication and Business students participate, however, students of all disciplines are encouraged to join and attend several meetings through out the year to have the opportunity to listen to and to network with several communication and business professionals. They also participate in activities sponsored by the Communication Studies Department. WCA is a great way for students to get to know each other as well as their options for internships and post-graduate plans.
