Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance Samantha Wilson was named the 2022-23 Faculty Advisor of the Year.

The award was established by the Academic Affairs Committee of the Student Affairs Senate to recognize and reward faculty for the pursuit of excellence in advising.

"Not only is Dr. Wilson knowledgeable about her profession and role as an advisor, but she also truly cares about students and their careers," stated one student nominator. "She creates job and networking opportunities for all of her advisees and is continuously communicating about new clinical experiences, scholarships, and educational workshops. To feel educated by an advisor is one thing, but to feel secure and prepared because of the relentless work they put into my future, education, and career is unmatched."

Several other student nominators also cited Wilson for having an unselfish and caring personality, "I can always count on her."

She began her career at Nebraska Wesleyan in 2013. Wilson also serves as the athletic training program director.

Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Sam!
