Weekend Cabaret Will Feature Music From Children’s Stories

Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Theatre Department will present a weekend cabaret with the theme, “Once Upon a Time: Music, Magic and Mystery.”

Performances will be held March 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee on March 9. All performances will be held in the Studio Theatre, located at 2710 N. 48th Street, two blocks west of campus. Free parking is available behind the building.

This cabaret features songs from classic children’s stories like The Wizard of Oz, Little Orphan Annie, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, and the Dr. Seuss books. There will also be songs from shows like Pippin, Once On This Island and other modern and tried and true musicals.

Each performance is different in its combination of songs and stories.

General admission tickets are $5. Admission for an appetizer option on Saturday night is $10, which includes a reserved table, appetizer and dessert. Tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved by calling the theatre box office at 402-465-2384.
