Dr. Michael Shermer, founding publisher of Skeptic Magazine and executive director of the Skeptics Society, will present a lecture on “The Borderlands of Science.” His book of the same name explores theories and ideas that fall somewhere between established likely explanations and pseudoscientific claims.

He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Pepperdine University, a master’s in experimental psychology from California State University-Fullerton, and his Ph.D. in the history of science from Claremont Graduate University. He was a college professor for 20 years and is now an adjunct professor of economics at Claremont Graduate University.

He has appeared on such shows as 20/20, Dateline, Larry King Live, Oprah and Unsolved Mysteries.
