Nebraska Wesleyan University professor Kathy Wolfe has been named the new Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Wolfe — a NWU alumna — is an associate professor of English and has taught at Nebraska Wesleyan since 2000.

“The position presents opportunities to continue discussions about general education, and work collaboratively to continue discussions to improve advising and retention of students,” she said.

As dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Wolfe will oversee the general education program, including Liberal Arts Seminars, co-coordinate academic advising, act as a liaison between faculty and students for student concerns about instruction, work on curriculum development, and be involved in student success programs.

“I’m looking forward to working with a great team of people and learning about NWU from a new perspective,” said Wolfe.

Her new position will not take her far from the classroom; she will teach one English course each semester.

“I’m happy to have the chance to continue teaching,” she said.

She will assume her new duties on July 1.
