Two Students Selected for Prestigious Fulbright Summer Institute

Two Nebraska Wesleyan students have been selected for the Fulbright Summer Institute to the United Kingdom. Emma Peterson, a sophomore athletic training and Spanish major, will participate in the US-UK Fulbright Summer Institute at the University of Bristol. Hunter Smith, a junior history major, will participate in the US-UK Fulbright Summer Institute at Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland.

Athletic Training Student’s Own Injury Lands Him Research Experience on the National Stage

Jacob LaMarche came to Nebraska Wesleyan with two passions: football and a possible career in healthcare. 

Little did he know how an injury on the field would quickly expose him to a new career path.

LaMarche, a graduate of Ralston High School, easily recalls that fall day in 2016 when he dislocated his left ankle. A sophomore at the time, LaMarche didn’t initially recognize the seriousness of the injury.

“I was in the process of blocking someone when it happened, so I was pretty focused on the play,” he recalled.
