Nebraska Wesleyan University has partnered with Concordia University, Nebraska, to expand access to NWU’s Master of Athletic Training (MAT) program making it easier for students to obtain a MAT degree. Under the agreement, NWU will reserve two seats annually for Concordia Nebraska students who meet specified criteria.

Nebraska Wesleyan University has promoted Jason Ensrud to Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. 

A new partnership between Nebraska Wesleyan University and York University will help students obtain a master’s degree in athletic training more quickly and efficiently.

The articulation agreement signed on Tuesday will provide York University students a streamlined pathway to advance their careers in athletic training through NWU’s program.

As Nebraska Wesleyan University celebrates two decades of excellence with its athletic training program, it’s also looking toward the future.

Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance Samantha Wilson was named the 2022-23 Faculty Advisor of the Year. 

The award was established by the Academic Affairs Committee of the Student Affairs Senate to recognize and reward faculty for the pursuit of excellence in advising.

Nebraska Wesleyan's athletic training program was recently awarded the Roy G. Story Award, an honor that recognizes individuals or groups of faculty, administrators, staff members or volunteers whose accomplishments have significantly enhanced the national stature of the university.

Ten athletic training students were recently chosen to speak at the Mid-America Athletic Trainer Association (MAATA) conference in Omaha. This was the first time at Nebraska Wesleyan that all students who submitted a proposal for the conference were accepted to present - showcasing the academic excellence and hard work of the Athletic Training program and its students.
