Lauren Brooks (she/her) is a fourth-year PhD student in Counseling Psychology at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She earned her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Angelo State University. As a provisionally licensed mental health clinician, Lauren has experience providing care across a variety of settings, including community mental health, private practice, and integrated primary care. She has worked with both individuals and groups, supporting adults and adolescents navigating a range of concerns, including LGBTQIA+ identity and related concerns, sexual and relational trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, and identity exploration.
Lauren’s therapeutic approach is rooted in collaboration and a strengths-based perspective, integrating person-centered, feminist, and cognitive theories. She has a passion for working with college students and is committed to creating a supportive and affirming space where students can explore their identities, develop coping skills, strengthen their relationships, and build greater confidence in navigating life transitions. Outside of her professional roles, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, attending concerts, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.
