CJ Venable, PhD, is director of academic advising at Nebraska Wesleyan University. CJ has worked in the field of academic advising for over a decade and joined the Academic Success Collaborative @ The Hub as director of advising in 2024. CJ has taken leadership roles in NACADA, the professional association for academic advising, and their scholarship has offered critical perspectives on the practice of advising and future of the advising profession. Their role on campus provides direct support to students, supports faculty advisors in departments across campus, and serves the community on initiatives related to student success, belonging, retention, and equity.
