Nebraska Wesleyan University’s annual Visions and Ventures Symposium will be held Tuesday, September 20 and Wednesday, September 21. The symposium will focus on mental health and community, allowing attendees to participate in an interactive storytelling experience. 

Dear World participant

This is the first time the symposium will be held in person since 2019 due to COVID-19.

The Visions and Ventures Symposium is held each year and provides students, employees and community members the opportunity to spend a day focused on an issue of national importance. Classes are cancelled for the day to allow full campus participation.

The Dear World Experience will facilitate this years event. Dear World specializes in helping organizations to build cultures of authenticity, inclusivity, and purpose through storytelling.

The schedule of events include:

Tuesday, September 20 - The Dear World Experience 

  • 9:00-10:30 a.m. – Act One (O’Donnell Auditorium, Rogers Center for Fine Arts).
  • 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Act Two: Photoshoot (Weary Center, Knight Field House).
  • 6:00-6:45 p.m. – Act Three: Story Celebration - (O’Donnell Auditorium, Rogers Center for Fine Arts).

Wednesday, September 21 - Breakout sessions with NWU experts 

  • 7-8 p.m. – Breakout sessions led by NWU experts on mental health, self-care, and other issues relevant to the Dear World Experience. (Various locations in Acklie Hall of Science.)
