One of the greatest benefits of attending Nebraska Wesleyan University is the large number of student-driven organizations that offer students an opportunity to build their career portfolio, make meaningful memories, and experience success on a multitude of levels. The START group provides students with the opportunity to gain skills essential for their future careers while keeping Nebraska Wesleyan technology running smoothly and providing a fun work environment.

The Student Technology Assistance and Resource Team are a group of students that work to enhance the technological presence at Wesleyan. START members gain the advantage of learning pertinent technical skills at an individual and meaningful pace, while earning one of the most competitive pay scales available at NWU. Members of START are able to develop and apply several software and hardware skills: from using Photoshop and designing web sites, to hardware installation, video editing, and customer service skills. START employees are also responsible for the care and maintenance of the computer lab facilities on campus.

This year members of START will take on a greater responsibility of the NWU website and help deliver innovative educational content to the classroom. Through these new fields START members will acquire important additions to their skill sets. Teachers, scientists, athletic trainers, musicians, and workers from a variety of fields can add immense success to their job search and careers by understanding the technical elements of their trade, and gain practical experience right here on the NWU campus!

Students working at START collaborate with other students, faculty, and staff to troubleshoot and solve problems with instructional technology; work toward updating university technological systems; gain skills in areas pertinent to their interest; and have a voice in the advancement of technology on the campus.
