Historical Society of New Mexico to Honor NWU History Professor

A Nebraska Wesleyan University history professor will be honored May 5 by the Historical Society of New Mexico.

Sandra Mathews-Benham, professor of history, will be honored with the Gaspar Perez de Villagra Award for the book, "A History of New Mexico Since Statehood," which she co-wrote with Richard Melzer and Robert Torrez.

Mathews-Benham will be honored May 5 at the Governor's mansion in Santa Fe, N.M.
