Comedian Tig Notaro to Perform at NWU

Nebraska Wesleyan University welcomes its students back for the spring semester with "Welcome Back Comedy Night." The evening will feature comedian Tig Notaro.

Welcome Back Comedy Night will be Friday, January 20 at 9 p.m. in O'Donnell Auditorium. The event is free for NWU students.

General admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the door.

Tig — affectionately named by her brother as a child — was born in Jackson, Miss. After dropping out of the ninth grade, she moved to Denver, Colo. where she worked briefly in the music industry before moving to Los Angeles to begin a career in comedy.

She has appeared in numerous tv shows including Comedy Central's "The Sarah Silverman Program," ABC's "In The Motherhood," and Comedy Central's "Dog Bites Man."

She has performed at many comedy festivals in the United State and abroad.

She currently performs regularly at the Hollywood Improv, the UCB Theatre, and Largo at The Coronet Theatre in her monthly show, "Tig Notaro and Friends."

The show is not recommended for students under 16.
