Nebraska Wesleyan’s University Choir and Chamber Singers will be joined by the Lincoln Boys Choir's Concert Choir and Lincoln Southeast High School's Court Choir to celebrate the music and message of the season in Tidings of Comfort and Joy: Christmas With Wesleyan.

The concert will be held on Friday, December 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Southwood Lutheran Church, located at 4301 Wilderness Hills Blvd. in Lincoln.

The four choral ensembles will be accompanied by a string quintet, flute, oboe, trumpet, horn, timpani, piano and organ, as they share the story of Christmas in timeless music from across the ages and around the world.  The audience will be invited to sing along in several beloved carols. Among the selections are “Lost in the Night,” “One Sweet Little Baby,” Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Star Carol,” “Noel,” “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” and more.

Tom Trenney, visiting assistant professor of music and conductor of choirs at Nebraska Wesleyan University, serves as artistic director and conductor of Christmas With Wesleyan.  In selecting this year's theme, Trenney said it is important for people to remember that, in spite of the discord and division of our time, Christmas brings us a measure of hope in our despair and a promise of light in our darkness

The concert is free.  A free-will offering will be collected to benefit the music and outreach of Nebraska Wesleyan University’s choirs.
