Longtime Lincoln prep football coach John Larsen returns to NWU for his second season on the Prairie Wolves football staff. This season he will be in charge of the quarterbacks after coaching the tight ends in his first season.
Larsen was the head football coach at Lincoln Southeast High School for four seasons, including leading the Knights to a 10-2 record in 2010 and a spot in the Class A semifinals. He took over as head coach in 2007 after serving as an assistant in the Knights program for 32 years.
Larsen also coached girls basketball at Southeast for 31 years winning a state-record nine state titles and a 560-169 all-time record, the fourth highest win total in state history.
He and his wife Jorena have five children and three grandchildren.
