Supporting Your Student’s Wellness
We hope your student is excited to join our campus community and kick off their NWU experience with an array of positive activities and programs.
Their wellness helps ensure that they can enjoy the full NWU experience.
To provide the best possible health support, we require each student to submit a confidential medical history form and documentation that they are in compliance with the university’s vaccination requirements.
This documentation must be submitted to Student Health Services by August 1. These requirements help our staff treat your student appropriately should they need care from our Student Health professionals.
We have updated the university’s vaccination requirements for all undergraduate and graduate students to include the COVID-19 vaccine. All students are to be fully vaccinated by August 15 with vaccines approved for emergency use by the FDA (Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson). Both doses of a two-dose vaccine must be received to meet the requirement. Students coming from outside of the U.S. can receive any COVID vaccine approved by the World Health Organization. Students unable to get vaccinated by August 15 should contact the Student Life Office (studentlife [at] nebrwesleyan.edu or 402.465.2154). The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department will host a vaccination clinic on campus on Wednesday, August 25.
We will continue to offer exemptions from our vaccination requirements for individuals who can document either a religious or medical reason. Individuals may also request an extension until the COVID vaccine receives full FDA approval. Exemption and extension forms are available on the COVID-19 Updates webpage. You may direct your questions about the exemption or extension process to the Student Life Office.
We require that students with a vaccination exemption or extension participate in regular COVID testing. We’ll share further details about COVID testing later this summer.
All students who submit their COVID vaccination information (photo of vaccination card or an exemption or extension form) by July 19 will be eligible for a drawing. Encourage your student to check their NWU email for details.
