Keeping our students well informed is an important component to their success at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
All students are assigned an official Nebraska Wesleyan email address. Following New Student Orientation earlier this summer, students received instructions on how to activate their NWU email account. Please encourage your student to complete this process if they haven’t done so already. All official university communication is sent to students’ NWU email address. Students are expected to check email frequently and regularly in order to stay current with university-related communications, recognizing that certain communication may be time-critical.
In the event of a campus emergency when students need to be contacted immediately, we use a text message notification called the Wesleyan Alert System. Students will verify their cell phone numbers with the university in August to make certain the correct contact information is on file. The Wesleyan Alert System is tested early in the academic year to ensure all students receive these urgent messages. The Wesleyan Alert System is used for emergencies only.
Finally, students and their families should continue to follow the university’s pandemic updates on the COVID-19 webpage. The university closely monitors and follows all state and local directed health measures and makes necessary adjustments. All updates to the university’s plans and protocols throughout the fall semester will be communicated directly to students via email and will be shared on the COVID-19 webpage.
