Prairie Wolves Welcome provides a shared experience for students to meet their classmates, build their social networks and establish a solid foundation for their NWU experiences. It’s important that students avoid scheduling work, travel or appointments during this time.

PWW kicks off on Thursday, August 18 with a welcome from the university president. Students will meet their PWW groups and student leaders that night, helping them make connections with others who have similar interests. The 18th is move-in day for most students living on campus.

Events scheduled August 19 through August 21 include required educational sessions. These entertaining, interactive sessions cover topics like alcohol use and safety, gender-based violence prevention, and building an inclusive community.

Students will choose from several social activities each day, such as bowling, crafts, sand volleyball and picnics. We encourage students to participate at their own pace, taking time for themselves to prepare for the beginning of the semester on Monday.

It takes time to develop new friendships and support networks. Encourage your student to be brave, to step outside their comfort zones and make friends across several of their areas of interest.
