We’re excited to welcome students to campus in August.
Like many colleges and universities across the country, we have adjusted our fall semester to start one week early (August 17) and continue on campus until the week of November 23 when residence halls will close and students will return home for the Thanksgiving holiday. Unlike other schools that are shortening their semesters, NWU students will finish the final two weeks of the semester remotely. Most students will not return to campus until the spring semester, which begins January 11.
We realize not all residential students will be able to return home in November, including student-athletes competing in winter sports. Please be assured that we’ll accommodate students who need to stay on campus.
Thanks to intensive and thoughtful planning by three task forces and the Administrative Council, we have absolute confidence that we will provide a rich experience that you and your student expect when choosing a Nebraska Wesleyan education. And it will be offered in a safe learning and living environment for all faculty, staff and students.
Later this week, you and your student will receive further details about our guidelines and policies for the fall semester. This update will include information on academic delivery, campus housing and updated move-in dates, athletics, and operational plans to keep our community safe and healthy. Please check your email and encourage your student to check their NWU email for this important information this week and throughout the summer.
We know campus life will be different for the fall semester, but we will be together and we will continue to keep health and safety at the forefront.
