Dr. Nancyruth Leibold
Dr. Nancyruth Leibold has over 34 years of nursing experience in critical care, medical/surgical nursing, public health nursing and nursing education. She has an EdD from College of Saint Mary, MS in Nursing from Creighton University and BSN from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Dr. Leibold’s research interests include conflict management, civility, nursing education, online nursing education, instructional technology, and teaching strategies, such as virtual simulation and WebQuests.
Nancyruth is an active Quality Matters Reviewer. She volunteers for the Glen Taylor Family Nursing and Society Institute, American Red Cross, and is a member in the Henry Street Consortium in Minnesota. Nancyruth is a reviewer for JOLT and the Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practices.
Nancyruth is active in Sigma Theta Tau International, the International Family Nursing Association, Association of Community Health Nurse Educators, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the National League for Nursing, and the National Association of School Nurses.
Nancyruth completed a certificate program from Minnesota State University-Mankato in Faculty Teaching and a certificate program at Minnesota State University-Mankato for Excellence in Online Teaching. Nancyruth is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) through the National League for Nursing.
Nancyruth has received numerous nursing awards and teaching awards, such as the Caring in Nursing Award from the Sisters of the Incarnate Word at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, the Outstanding Faculty Award from the nursing student body at Creighton University, and the Excellence in Nursing Award from Sigma Theta Tau, Nu Rho Chapter. In 2013, Dr. Leibold received the Midwest/Heartland Nursing Excellence Educator and Mentor GEM award from nurse.com. In 2014, she received the National Nurse Educator Award from Wilson Shepard Associates. Also in 2014, Nancyruth received the Phyllis Roseberry Service Award from Sigma Theta Tau International, Mu Lambda Chapter. Dr. Leibold has also received the Stephen Shanks Teaching Award from Capella University.
Nancyruth received a 2014 Presidential Teaching Scholar Fellowship to focus on instructional modules of civility and conflict management for online and hybrid courses. This project includes the creation of virtual simulations of conflict resolution for nursing students and nurses. Nancyruth has many professional presentations, grant awards, and publications in nursing and nursing education.
