Keith J. ’69 and Judith R. (Trimble) ’69 Maurer

Keith and Judith (Trimble) Maurer have been on a journey that, in Keith’s words, “two kids from Nebraska never imagined.”

After Keith completed his service in the Air Force at Offutt Air Force Base, the couple moved to Lincoln, and then to Tampa Bay, where Keith started a new business, Fee For Service, in 1984. This company provided referral insurance consultations with company advisors. He sold the successful business to GE Capital in 1995.

Keith and Judith celebrated this milestone with six months of retirement before Judith started Low Load Insurance Service. This company functions much like Fee For Service, but with Judith in the president’s seat and Keith serving as a consultant. They continue to operate this business today.

The Maurers have continued strong ties to NWU since they graduated. Judith has been a member of both the Board of Trustees (1972-1981) and the Board of Governors (1973-1978). Keith has served on the Board of Governors (1983-1985), Board of Trustees (1989-1998), as head of fundraising for the Great Teaching Program (1981), and as president of the Alumni Association (1983-1985). The couple also served together as class fundraising representatives for their 25th reunion year in 1994. They are also invested members of the President’s Society, Huntington’s Society, and Cornerstone Society.

Keith and Judith sing in their church choir where Judith manages their concert series. They are active in the American Cancer Society, particularly with the Cattle Baron's Ball. They have two sons, Mark and Paul. Mark lives nearby and is in line to serve as Low Load Insurance Service's president upon Judith's retirement. Paul lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
