Twitter has today announced the discovery of a bug in their social media platform which is compelling them to recommend that all their users change their Twitter passwords.

The bug lead to user passwords being saved on an internal log without proper encryption.  As a result, there was the potential for user passwords to be compromised.  Twitter has said that the bug has been addressed and that there is no evidence of any leaked passwords or any misuse.  They are, nevertheless, advising all 336 million users of their social media platform to change their passwords.  Announcements regarding the bug emphasized that, in spite of the recommendation, there has been no security breach.
