United Methodist Archives
Located on the lower level of the Cochrane-Woods Library, the Nebraska United Methodist Historical Center/Archives was created in 1968 to preserve the history of United Methodism and its predecessors in Nebraska. The Center is open by appointment only.
The Historical Center serves as the official repository for the Archives of the Nebraska area of the Great Plains Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, a resource for local churches in the preparation and preservation of their history, and a museum featuring historical treasures of the church.
Individuals seeking historical information are encouraged to make an appointment to visit the Center at no charge; research assistance is available if necessary. There is a research fee of $20 per hour for staff to conduct research. Photocopies are 25 cents.
Contact UM Historical Center at 402.465.2175 or gpcarchives [at] greatplainsumc.org for information and availability of research materials or to schedule an appointment. More information is also available at www.greatplainsumc.org/archivesandhistory.
