Elizabeth MacLeod Walls, Ph.D.

Dr. Elizabeth MacLeod Walls is Dean of University College, overseeing graduate and adult professional education at four campus locations for Nebraska Wesleyan University. During her tenure as Dean, she has worked with faculty to launch new graduate and undergraduate degrees, certificates, corporate partnerships, and community outreach initiatives, such as the Nebraska Wesleyan University Leadership Institute. The College has become home to the fastest growing programs at Nebraska Wesleyan, nearly doubling its academic footprint and budgetary impact since 2012.

Prior to her arrival at Nebraska Wesleyan, MacLeod Walls served in administration at Bryan College of Health Sciences, first as Director of Institutional Effectiveness, then as Dean, Interim President, and ultimately as the second President of the College. At Bryan, MacLeod Walls guided the College through the HLC accreditation process and oversaw a 30% increase in the College's student population through the establishment of new programs at the undergraduate and graduate level.

A graduate of TCU and Hiram College (Phi Beta Kappa), MacLeod Walls has authored numerous refereed articles on English literary modernism and classical rhetoric, and is the co-editor of three books published by the University of Missouri Press, the University of Iowa Press, and Michigan State University, respectively. Dr. MacLeod Walls also serves as an executive consultant to the healthcare industry and various institutions of higher learning throughout the Midwest. She is an active volunteer in the Lincoln community, serving on the Board of Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra and as Co-Chair of the Family Literacy Program Advisory Committee supported through Lincoln Public Schools.

Dr. MacLeod Walls is also an alumna of the Harvard Graduate School's Management and Leadership in Education (MLE) program and the ACE National Women's Leadership Forum.

Dr. MacLeod Walls is married to Rev. Dr. Craig MacLeod Walls, founding Head Minister of SouthPointe Christian Church in Lincoln, Nebraska. They have two sons, Alec and John, and love to spend their time reading, walking, thinking, and laughing with each other and with family.
