Social Work Degree

For transfer and working adults

Seasoned professionals know there’s good reason why their industry’s name includes the word “work.” Success in this field requires a lot of it. And no social work program in our region prepares you to succeed in that work like Nebraska Wesleyan’s. Turn your passion for helping people into a successful career. Earn your social work degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects 12 percent job growth in social work by 2024. Specialties in health and mental health care are expected to be in even higher demand.

What makes NWU different.

Our curriculum is specially designed to give you the tools you need to master the philosophy and practice of social work. Learn the history and nuance of social welfare policy. Study social human behavior. Analyze the social work theories of micro, macro and group practice. With NWU, you’ll deepen your understanding by applying everything you’ve learned in a transformational field practicum experience in select social work agencies.

Nebraska Wesleyan’s social work program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. This accreditation allows you to apply for advanced standing in graduate programs. From here, you may earn your Master of Social Work when Nebraska Wesleyan launches its new MSW program in 2019.
