Lift As You Climb Enrichment Program

Lincoln middle and high school students of color are invited to participate in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) enrichment program, Lift As You Climb.

This hands-on experiential learning program in a college environment is funded by a grant from the Lincoln Community Foundation and there is no cost for you to participate. Application deadline is April 15, 2022 and space is limited.

Using cooperative mentoring by STEM professionals, parents, peers and educators, Lift As You Climb Enrichment Program will increase your educational opportunities, expand your support networks and promote a persistence in STEM pathways.

Accepted applicants—10 middle school and 10 high school students of color—will participate in the following activities:

  • Professional development workshops for both middle and high school students
  • Laboratory activities in biology, chemistry, math and physics
  • A STEM-related field trip
  • Peer mentoring
  • Community building activities

The Lift As You Climb Enrichment Program will take place on the campus of Nebraska Wesleyan University on the following Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Parental/guardian encouragement is the most import role in building a young person’s interest and priority setting in terms of formal education. A component of your student’s participation in Lift As You Climb includes the parent commitment to nurture your student’s involvement in the program.
 

By signing below, you agree to ensure your student will be able to follow through with regular and consistent attendance. You also agree to your attendance at Zoom or in-person parent meetings designed to build your child’s interest in STEM education.
