Nebraska Wesleyan University awarded degrees to 500 undergraduate and graduate students at its 129thcommencement on Saturday, May 5. 

Natalie Hahn, a humanitarian whose work with United Nations programs has empowered women across Africa and beyond, delivered the commencement address. She was presented with an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree. An Honorary Doctor of Laws degree was also presented to Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler.

Carly Wahlmeier, a 2018 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University, is among 51 students in the nation selected for the prestigious Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship. This fall Wahlmeier will begin medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Last June identical twins Nathan and Thomas Krick spent countless hours preparing to make a pitch about their outdoor television show to a panel of distinguished judges. 

Chase Hoffschneider, a sophomore from Burwell, Neb., will be joined by junior Simon Holloway of Omaha, when they pitch their "SaveMe" device during the annual Network Globally, Act Locally pitch competition on June 15th.

The academic honors list for the 2017-2018 spring semester includes 487 students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and 105 students in the adult undergraduate program.

Spring Academic Honors List Announced

Nebraska Wesleyan University has announced its Academic Honors List for the spring semester of the 2017-2018 academic year. A student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.75 (on a 4.00 scale) for 12 or more hours of coursework to qualify for the list.
