Access NWU Scholarship
Access Nebraska Wesleyan University offers full tuition for Nebraska students who meet academic and financial need qualifications. After state and federal grants are applied to a student’s financial aid award, Nebraska Wesleyan University will provide scholarships equal to the cost of tuition. How to apply
Step 1 – Apply for admission to Nebraska Wesleyan University
Access NWU candidates must first submit an application for admission and then be sent a letter of acceptance offering him or her a place in the next class at NWU.
Step 2 – Submit a FAFSA
Interested students will need to file for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://fafsa.ed.gov/ and add NWU’s school code (002555). If required, recipients must complete the federal verification process to confirm eligibility for the Access NWU program. While there is no formal closing date, students are strongly encouraged to complete the application for admission and the FAFSA by March 1.
Eligibility is based on the “expected family contribution” (EFC) of $1,000 or less. The EFC is a formula that takes into consideration your financial circumstances, which may include the number in your family, family members enrolled in college, and many other financial factors. Students with an EFC of more than $1,000 can expect to receive a generous financial aid award, but are not selected as recipients for the free tuition program.
Step 3 – Watch for SAR
Completing the FAFSA will generate the Student Aid Report (SAR) on which the expected family contribution is listed. Eligibility will be specified when the financial aid award is formally announced. The NWU financial aid staff will confirm your official eligibility for the Access NWU program.
Students will remain eligible for up to four years of Access NWU funding, provided the FAFSA is filed prior to March 1 each year and the EFC is less than $1,000. Students must also remain a full-time student, living in NWU residential housing (excludes Greek housing), and achieve a cumulative 2.5 NWU GPA. Access NWU funding covers the full cost of tuition after state and federal funds are applied. Students are also eligible for federal student loans and on-campus work study to assist with the additional costs needed for room and board, fees and books.
