Assistant Professor of Art History
The Nebraska Wesleyan University Art Department invites applications for a non-tenured position as Assistant Professor in Art History. The successful candidate will work in a small, but thriving studio art department within a liberal arts university. The successful candidate will be an art history generalist with the ability to teach both western and non-western survey courses from ancient to the 21st century. The candidate must be able to teach modern and contemporary art and craft history, and specific thematic courses.
NWU faculty are expected to participate and teach in our innovative Archway curriculum and provide service to the organization. This position will teach an Archway Seminar for first year students each fall semester, after the first year of employment. Other responsibilities may include advising the student art organization or organizing the visiting artist series. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes Nebraska Wesleyan faculty benefits package.

- Ph.D. in Art History (or ABD)
- Evidence of 1-3 years of college teaching experience
- Commitment to the use of engaging, innovative teaching styles
- Desire to work within a studio art department and across disciplines
Final rank upon hire will be determined by the Provost commensurate with experience and education.
