Background: 

Mark Honnor is in his seventh year of his second stint with the NWU baseball program. He currently serves as the pitching coach for the Prairie Wolves. During his tenure he has coached the GPAC Pitcher of the Year twice, in 2001 and 2008, and guided the NWU pitching staff to throw 21 complete games en route to the 2009 GPAC regular season championship. Honnor was also a baseball assistant for Nebraska Wesleyan from 1996-2001. During the 2001 season, NWU won the inaugural Great Plains Athletic Conference title.

Honnor played baseball at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he pitched for the Cornhuskers from 1982-86. In the summer of 1984, Honnor played in the Alaska Summer League for the North Pole Nicks, under former University of Southern California and current California Irvine head baseball coach Mike Gillespie. He also pitched in the Nebraska Independent summer league for over 20 years.

In February 2012, Honnor was inducted into the Nebraska Baseball Hall of Fame.

Honnor attended Lincoln Northeast High School where he returned as an assistant coach in 1988 and was inducted into the LNE Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003. He also coached at Lincoln East from 2002-05. Besides coaching, Honnor has worked at Pfizer Inc. for 26 years. He and his wife, Lisa, have a daughter, Ashton, who is a junior at Nebraska Wesleyan.
